Is Your Milk Unleashed!

Thank you for stopping by little island studios, please subscribe to follow in family fun!

When I am busy and things are hectic, I sometimes forget to make sure we have enough milk in the house and have gotten to the end of the day and realized I didn't keep track of what everyone ate and drank that day, as far as protein and vitamins. When I am super busy, finding first thing that I have run out of milk and have to run to the store before the kids get up (and before I have had coffee) is not fun. I keep carton milk in the cupboard for just such occasions as these. I also totally rely on carton milk for picnics, hiking for the day and trips into the city! It is fabulous not have to worry if the cooler has enough ice or if it is cold enough. And I must say, to have carton milk in the house when the power goes off during bad weather is a huge relief when you have kids!
Our favourite form of long distance traveling is by car. Road trips are fabulous for family bonding, laughing and having fun together. We usually have a cooler for sandwiches and will throw some carton milk in the cooler a couple hours before we need it. It works fabulous! There is no way we could keep "regular" cartoned milk properly cold for long periods of time. Also, dealing with sippy cups of milk on the road with no means to wash them out...is yucky. I did try this out when my oldest was quite young and didn't try it again! After forgetting the sippy cup in the car (it rolled under the seat) it was a week before the smell of sour milk went away and the lid was so yucky, I had to throw it out!  I am actually not quite sure the smell ever went away!

Carton milk is available in your favourite kind of milk. Our favourite is Organic Valley organic whole milk! Carton milk does not need to be refrigerated until opened and you may freeze it as well. Carton milk comes in a Tetra Pak - these packages do more than protect the nutritional content and quality of milk, juice and other food products. Made of 70% paper from selectively harvested, re-grown trees, they help preserve resources for future generations.
One carton of shelf safe milk has eight grams of protein and nine essential nutrients – calcium, A, D and B12, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, riboflavin, niacin and zinc. Shelf safe milk is real milk with no additives or preservatives that requires no refrigeration until it’s opened. Just Grade A wholesome, nutritious and organic.
