No Text on Board - It Can Wait AT&T Giveaway!

Thank you for stopping by little island studios, please subscribe by email to follow along in family fun!

Start your New Year off by pledging No Texting and Driving for safer New Year! AT&T's campaign - It Can Wait has over one million and counting pledges for no texting while driving.  PLEDGE HERE to never text while driving!

Every time I go out I have to swerve at least once to avoid someone not driving safely,  they are either texting or chatting on their cell phones. Everytime. And I must say the majority of the time it is moms, dads and young adults...not teens, doing the driving and texting!

There is no text or phone call that cannot wait!

Those who send text messages while driving are 23 times more likely to be in a crash.
Of all cell phone related tasks — including talking, dialing, or reaching for the phone — texting while driving is the most dangerous.

When drivers read or send a text message, their reaction time is doubled. When asked to respond to a flashing light while texting behind the wheel, drivers were more than 11 times more likely to miss the light altogether.

This Texting and Driving video shows that It Can Wait!

In my opinion texting and/or talking on the phone when you are with your spouse and/or with the kids is just plain rude. You are in the car togetherEnjoy each other.  Talk.  Laugh. Sing (if you must).   Chat about your day, ask them about theirs and actually listen to what they are saying.

Manners matter.   And in this case - bad manners are down right dangerous!

So join me and take the pledge to NEVER text and/or talk while you drive! Your kids will thank you for both setting a good example and keeping them safe.

My daughter is only approaching four so I have not needed to have the talk with her yet. But as a parent I do set the right example by not texting while driving and putting the phone away when we enter the car.
The video is definitely a reality check. I remember seeing it for the first time when I was doing a speech on texting while driving for a school assignment.

YES we have talked to our kids about texting and even talking on the phone while driving. We are pretty sure they do not do either one. I hope they don't and I trust them but I do know everyone can be stupid. So I pray a lot with 2 teen drivers ;) and can't wait for the to get back home every day.

The video freaks me out. I don't think that there should be laws against it - we already have enough laws BUT I do wish people would just use their common sense and not text and drive. I"m showing the video to my 3 teens today. Thanks.

I have talked to my children about texting and driving after I had seen a show on Oprah about it I had not realized it was such an epidemic and YES VERY VERY Dangerous! Great cause and tanks for the opportunity to win

A very frightening video. It should be shown in schools starting in Jr High before kids start driving! Although in all honesty, I see adults doing this as well I am glad that many states have laws against it and wish they all did!

I commented on the blog "Making Valentine's Day Garland with Recycled Packaging!" What an awesome idea to tech children to recycle and cause less waste as well as cute valentines decorations for a home or classroom!

Video shows the realistic version of texting and driving...people get so caught up in the moment they have no clue how long they aren't paying attention. Even one second is too long.
