WHY: Not all yogurt cups are created equal and Stonyfield is obsessively organic, assuring consumers that they will always get a pure cup of organic goodness made without GMOs and toxic persistent pesticides.
“Unfortunately, nowadays even so called ‘natural’ yogurts may still be made with milk produced by cows fed GMO grains. Choosing organic foods is the only way anyone who wants to avoid these practices can do so. We’re thrilled to give yogurt lovers in Boston who want a pure cup of organic goodness a chance to trade up their daily cup to Stonyfield Greek,” says Gary Hirshberg, Stonyfield Co-founder and Chairman.
WHEN & WHERE: Tuesday August 6th at Sam Adams Park in Faneuil Hall from 10AM-1PM (or until the yogurt runs out!).
VISUALS & INTERVIEWS: Stonyfield Co-founder and Chairman Gary Hirshberg will be on-site for interviews from10AM-11AM. A full team of 50 Stonyfield employees will be handing out samples from 10AM-2PM.
MORE ABOUT GMOS: According to a survey commissioned by Just Label It, 92% of Americans want to see labeling of GMOs. Currently, GMOs are not required to be labeled in the U.S. The best ways for American consumers to avoid foods made with GMOs is to eat items that carry the USDA Certified Organic seal or products that are verified through the Non-GMO Project.
Stonyfield always makes its certified organic and authentically strained Greek yogurt without the use of GMOs, toxic persistent pesticides, artificial hormones and antibiotics.
