So happy today's post is sponsored by Virginia Beach - Our Family Travel Destination!

We have traveled almost constantly in the past year and I have to say, Virginia Beach is one of my most favorite beaches (if not the favorite).  I grew up on a beach so I have lovely fond memories there but aside from my home - Virginia Beach has it!  Virginia Beach is coastal and quaint with absolutely tons to do, but not "touristy".  We recently spent quite a bit of time in a very popular beach in South Carolina, while the sand and surf part was great, (albeit not the cleanest) the boardwalk and town was entirely too touristy and "circusy" for me.  I love calm and coastal, but not tacky.  And getting to Virginia Beach is an absolutely gorgeous drive and so worth it.

Here are some places you simply must see whilst in Virginia Beach

Grommet Island Playground is a playground for every body and is the only ADA-compliant beach playground in the country.  Grommet Island makes playing in the sand accessible to everyone!  Grommet Island Playground with wheelchair access, raised sand and play tables, sensory boards for autistic children and visually impaired -  it truly is for every "body".  Every child should be able to enjoy Virginia Beach.
Grommet Island Playground is no charge and play as long as you like!
Grommet Island Playground sponsors JT Walk and Beach Party to benefit ALS Research & JT's Camp Grom - a camp coming next year to benefit families with disabled children of all ages.   This year's JT Walk is October 5th!

Sensory and Imaginative Play Are the Key at Grommet Island Playground!

The Virginia Beach Aquarium offers educational and inspiring fun on a rainy or cloudy day when you and your kids would like a day of mostly inside fun.   Virginia Beach Aquarium has something for absolutely everyone in the family!  The Aquarium offers multiple affordable one day camps for kids ages 5 - 15 and  Toddler Tuesdays are a must to keep the little ones happy, as well!

Virginia Beach Aquarium - Perfect for a toddler's curiosity!
Virginia Beach Aquarium & Adventure Park - Together!

Brand new in Virginia Beach is Adventure Park at the Virginia Beach Aquarium, it was built by Outdoor Ventures - adventure parks are very popular in Europe and growing in popularity in the United States and with good reason.  Adventure Parks get you up and moving, trying new things and testing your fitness levels.  Ages 5 and up.
                                                             So unplug and play!

Adventure Park in Virginia Beach looks like it is out of the Ewok set in Star Wars and absolutely brilliant!  One mom on Instagram said is looked like Robin Hood.  Either way, it is the stuff dreams and imaginations are made of.

So what is an Adventure Park?

Where to eat?  We absolutely loved the atmosphere, as well as, fresh and local seafood at Rudee's Restaurant & Cabana Bar on the Inlet!  We watched the boats dock and supply their day's catch - it's that fresh.  We also enjoyed the outside table gliders and seating on the dock.   Our waitress, Cory, made the whole experience even better with her knowledge of the menu, food and to be honest, the way she treated my little one and all of this made Rudee's  our most favorite place to eat!  (My little one is...a bit spirited and it her kind and playful manner toward him was most appreciated. )  Check out more pictures of food and fun on Rudee's Instagram.

Check out more fun at Rudee's Inlet - Sailing, Jet Skiing, Tours, Parasailing and so much more!

Where to buy healthy snacks and travel goodies - Whole Foods Virginia Beach or Trader Joe's

This is a sponsored post about Virginia Beach.  The restaurant, playground or any of the venues mentioned are in no way sponsored.  This was our experience and I would not suggest to moms and dads if I didn't absolutely love it!  Opinions are my own.

I grew up in Virginia Beach... love this post! We lived about 17 miles from the beach with a limited budget, so we missed most of these. This makes me want to visit again with our family. Adventure Park looks amazing!!
